In order to improve our coverage of the transportation network in South East Asia region we are taking steps to integrate international bus routes connecting Vietnam and Laos, especially travel from Hanoi to Luang Prabang, Vientuane by bus.

The expansion by land reinforces our commitment to facilitate international travel from Vietnam to its neighbor countries, in addition to the bus routes between Vietnam and Cambodia already available in our platform.

Hanoi to Luang Prabang and Hanoi to Vientiane by bus

We are pleased to announce that we have signed a cooperation agreement with HTX VẬN TẢI 27-7 and support online booking for their bus routes to Laos.

The bus company operates round-trip services between Hanoi and Vientiane (baolau.com/s/Hanoi/Vientiane), also Hanoi and Luang Prabang (baolau.com/s/Hanoi/Luang-Prabang), besides many other one-way services from Hanoi to multiple destinations.

27-7 travels from Vietnam to Laos and inversely through 2 different land routes:

Bus from Hanoi to Phonsavan, Vang Vieng and Luang Prabang

Entering Laos from Nghe An province through Nam Can - Nonghet International Pass.

The bus departs from Hanoi and passes near Thanh Hoa before reaching the border. After crossing to Laos the bus stops in Phonsavan in Xiangkhouang province (baolau.com/s/Hanoi/Phonsavan) before arriving to Phou Khoun intersection (crossing the highway that connects Luang Prabang and Vang Vieng). Passengers heading to Vang Vieng (baolau.com/s/Hanoi/Vang-Vieng) split and take a van heading south, the bus continues north to its final destination Luang Prabang (baolau.com/s/Hanoi/Luang-Prabang). On the following day the bus returns from Luang Prabang to Hanoi (baolau.com/s/Luang-Prabang/Hanoi).

Bus from Hanoi to Thakkek, Savannakhet and Vientiane

Entering Laos from Ha Tinh province through Cau Treo - Nam Phao International Pass.

The bus departs from Hanoi and passes near Vinh before reaching the border. After crossing to Laos the bus arrives to Nam Thon intersection (crossing of highways #8 and #13). Passengers heading to Thakhek (baolau.com/s/Hanoi/Thakhek) and Savannakhet (baolau.com/s/Hanoi/Savannakhet) split and take a van heading south, the bus continues west to its final destination Vientiane (baolau.com/s/Hanoi/Vientiane). On the following day the bus returns from Vientiane to Hanoi (baolau.com/s/Vientiane/Hanoi).

How to book bus tickets from Vietnam to Laos

Baolau cooperates with 27-7 and allow travellers to book online in advance. Once the reservation is confirmed, we will send you an e-ticket that you can use for check-in and collect the physical tickets at the departure point in Hanoi, Luang Prabang or Vientiane right before boarding the bus.

Hanoi to Luang Prabang by bus

The fleet of 27-7 consists of Soft-sleeper buses that make the long journey a bit more comfortable than other road transportation. Some buses are equipped with Wifi internet on board.

In order to comply with immigration procedures at the border, passengers must carry their passports with valid visas for Vietnam and Laos. 27-7 reserves the right to deny boarding if the passenger fails to present the travel documents.
